1. SSC CHSL Exam:
The SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) Exam is a competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The full form of SSC CHSL is Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level. The syllabus for the examination covers topics from General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. The salary for the post starts from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month. The SSC CHSL 2023 Exam Date is yet to be officially announced. The age limit for the examination is 18 to 27 years. Eligibility Criteria For SSC CHSL Exam
To be eligible for the SSC CHSL exam, you must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality:
A candidate must be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1962 with the intention of permanently settling, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Age Limit For SSC CHSL:
The candidates should be aged between 18-27 years
for posts of
SSC CHSL
(i.e. Candidates born not before 02-01-1995 and not later than 01-01-2004)
- Educational Qualification:
The candidates must have completed a minimum of
matriculation(Class 10th)
or equivalent level of education from a recognized educational board.
- Physical Fitness:
Candidates must meet certain physical standards, which include a
minimum height of 157.5 cms for General Category and Ex-serviceman, and
155 cms for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe
candidates. All categories must also have a minimum
chest measurement of 77 cms
(unexpanded) and
82 cms (expanded)
and a
minimum weight of 48 kgs. Candidates with certain disabilities may still be able to apply if they meet the physical requirements, as specified in the official SSC CHSL notification for 2023.

You must not have any criminal records and must be of good character. You must also be proficient in the official language of the state or union territory in which you are applying.

5. Vacancy for SSC CHSL 2023
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the CHSL Vacancy 2023 along with the CHSL Notification 2023. In total, there are 4500 vacancies available. However, firm vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, if any, along with Post-wise & category-wise vacancies will be made available on the website of the Commission (https://ssc.nic.in> Candidate’s Corner> Tentative Vacancy) in due course. Candidates may note that State-wise/ Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.

7. Syllabus for SSC CHSL:
The syllabus for the SSC CHSL exam typically includes the following topics:
- English Language and Comprehension:
Candidates' understanding of the basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. and to test comprehension, a simple paragraph may be given and question based on the paragraph to be asked.
- Numerical and Mathematical Ability:
Integers and Whole Numbers, LCM and HCF, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between numbers, Fundamental Arithmetic Operations and BODMAS, Percentage, Ratio and Proportions, Work and Time, Direct and inverse Proportions, Averages, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Area and Perimeter of Basic Geometric Figures, Distance and Time, Lines and Angles, Interpretation of simple Graphs and Data, Square and Square roots etc.
- Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving:
Alpha-Numeric Series, Coding and Decoding, Analogy, Following Directions, Similarities and Differences, Jumbling, Problem Solving and Analysis, Non-verbal Reasoning based on diagrams, age Calculations, Calendar and Clock, etc.
- General Awareness:
The broad coverage of the test will be on Social Studies (History, Geography, Art and Culture, Civics, Economics), General Science and Environmental studies up to 10th Standard.
8. Selection Process For SSC CHSL
The SSC CHSL 2022-23 notification has brought about a major change in the examination pattern, as announced by the Commission. Instead of the traditional three-tier process, the revised SSC CHSL Exam Pattern will now consist of only two tiers. This alteration has also resulted in modifications to the exam pattern. Hence, it's crucial for aspiring candidates to familiarize themselves with the updated exam pattern before starting their preparation. Although Tier 1 retains a similar pattern, Tier 2 has undergone a complete overhaul. Here's the revised exam pattern for the SSC CHSL 2023 exam.

SSC CHSL Tier-I Examination:
- The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set in English and Hindi for Part-II, III & IV.
- There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.

- Tier-II will be held in two sessions on the same day. Session-I will include sections-I, II and module-I of section-III. Session-II will include module-II of section-III.
- It's mandatory to pass all sections of Tier-II. The exam will be multiple-choice and objective, except for module-II of section-II. The questions will be in English and Hindi, except for the English Language and Comprehension module in section-II. There will be negative marking of 1 point for each incorrect answer in sections-I, II and module-I of section-III.
- Module-I of section-III is mandatory but qualifying. Module-II of section-III will include a Skill Test/Typing Test in session-II. This test is of qualifying nature. Any errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to two decimal places.
- The Skill Test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators and will test their speed of 8,000 key depressions in 15 minutes. Typing Test for other posts will be in Hindi or English, with a required speed of 35 words per minute for English and 30 words per minute for Hindi. The speed will be checked in 10 minutes. If needed, candidates can request a scribe, with compensatory time of 5 minutes added. Candidates with disabilities may be exempt from the typing test if approved by the commission.

Kindly enter your personal details such as your Full Name, Parent’s Name, Aadhaar Number, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile Number, and other important information with care. An OTP will be sent to your registered email and mobile number, enter this OTP and click "Submit." You will receive your registration number and password through email or SMS.

Step 3: Complete the SSC CHSL Application Form 2022
Fill in your personal, contact, and educational information such as category, gender, nationality, College/University name, passing year, roll number, and scores/marks. Choose at least 3 preferred exam centers in your desired region or zone. Then select the post you wish to apply for i.e. LDC/JSA/PA/SA.
Once you have read the declaration, tick the "I Agree" box and enter the captcha code. Finally, submit the application form to proceed with the payment of the application fees.
Step 4: SSC CHSL Application Fees 2022 Payment
The final step is to pay the SSC CHSL exam fees. General and OBC candidates will have to pay INR 100, whereas candidates from SC, ST, PwD, Female, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempt from paying the exam fees.
You can pay the fees through online or offline modes. For offline payment, you must generate an offline challan from the SSC website and pay the fees in cash with the challan at any SBI branch near you.
For online payment, select the preferred mode of payment - Net Banking, BHIM UPI, Debit or Credit Cards, and enter your banking details in the payment gateway.
