    1. LIC AAO Exam:

    The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) exam is a competitive exam conducted by LIC to recruit candidates for the position of Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalist). The exam is usually conducted once a year.

    The The selection process for the AAO exam typically consists of three stages:

    • Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam is a computer-based test that assesses the candidate's knowledge in English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will proceed to the next stage.
    • Main Exam: The main exam is also a computer-based test that assesses the candidate's knowledge in Reasoning, Data Analysis, and Interpretation, Financial Management, Economics and Insurance and Social Issues.
    • Interview: Candidates who pass the main exam will be called for an interview. The interview will be conducted by a panel of LIC officials.

    The final selection of the candidate will be based on the combined scores of the main exam and the interview. Candidates who clear the main exam and interview will have to go through a medical examination before being appointed as AAO.

    To be eligible for the LIC AAO exam, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen to be eligible for the LIC AAO exam.

    • Age Limit: Candidate must be between the ages of 21 and 30 to be eligible for the LIC AAO exam as on 01.01.2023. There are some age relaxations available for certain categories of candidates.

    • Educational Qualification: You must have at least a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university to apply for AAO Generalist. Proper documents from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 01.01.2023 have to be submitted at the time of interview. .

    • Physical Fitness: You must be physically fit to be eligible for the LIC AAO exam. You will be required to undergo a medical examination after the selection process is complete, and your appointment will be subject to medical fitness.

    • Other Requirements: You must not have any criminal records and must be of good character. You must also be proficient in the official language of the state or union territory in which you are applying.

    The preliminary exam consists of objective type questions and tests your ability in the areas of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The main exam is also objective in nature and tests your ability in the areas of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, General Awareness and Computer and Marketing Awareness.

    9. Selection Process For LIC - Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO)

    The Selection of Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) will be done through a three tiered process and subsequent Pre- recruitment Medical examination.

    Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:

    Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

    Candidates equal to 20 times of number of vacancies in each category, subject to availability, will be shortlisted for Main examination.

    Phase-II: Main Examination:

    Main examination will consist of objective tests for 300 marks and descriptive test for 25 marks. Both the objective and descriptive tests will be online. The objective test will have separate timing for every section. Candidates will have to answer descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive test will be administered immediately after the completion of the objective test.

    The duration of objective test is 3 hours, and it consists of 4 Sections of total 300 marks. There will be separate timing for every section.

    Note: Candidate MUST pass in each Section separately and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate to qualify for the online examinations (Preliminary and Main) and the interview.

    Selection criteria for Phase-III: The minimum marks to be obtained in each Section and cut off marks for each section and in the aggregate shall be decided by LIC. Descriptive test of English Language etc. is of qualifying nature and marks in this test will not be counted for ranking.

    Phase-III: Interview

    The Bank may conduct Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase-III. Finding of the test may be placed before the Interview panel for having a through perspective on the candidates.

    Maximum Interview marks are 60 and qualifying marks for EWS, Unreserved, OBC are 30.Qualifying marks for SC /ST/PwBD candidates are 27. Candidates who do not obtain the minimum qualifying marks as decided by LIC shall be excluded from further selection process

    • The number of candidates to be called for interview will be about three times the number of vacancies.  
    • There will be no contingency/waiting list for candidates not declared successful in the main list.

    NOTE: Marks obtained in Main examination plus marks obtained in interview will be considered for final merit listing.
