XAT : Exam Date, Registration, Syllabus, Pattern, Notification
XAT 2023 will be conducted on 8th January 2023 and registrations have started on 10th August 2022. Candidates will be able to download the XAT admit card from 20th December 2022 onward from the official website. The exam duration is 3 hours and 10 minutes in a single slot. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam should register before 30th November 2022. Based on the notification, there are no changes to the XAT exam pattern or structure. The essay writing section, reintroduced in 2022 will also be included in XAT 2023. XAT 2023 will have 4 sections plus an essay question divided into two parts; Part 1 (VA, DM, QADI) has 165 minutes and Part 2 has General Knowledge and Essay Writing with 15 minutes and 10 minutes, respectively.

For admission to MBA and PGDM programmes at more than 160 Indian universities, the Xavier Aptitude Test, a national exam, is administered. XIMB Bhubaneswar, IMT Ghaziabad, and XLRI Jamshedpur are some of the major business schools that accept the XAT test. The official notification for the XAT 2023 examination was made public on August 9, 2022, and applications for the examination opened on August 10. On January 8, 2023, the exam will be given. This year's test will also include the essay writing portion, which was reintroduced in the XAT 2023 exam. XAT Pattern has been shifting slightly over the years. This makes preparing for the XAT Exam slightly tricky however the sections have remained the same due to which the XAT Syllabus can be looked at in brief.
This section is a combination of two sections from the CAT Exam. This section consists of the Quantitative Ability as well as Data Interpretation Questions. The Data Interpretation sets are usually followed by 3-4 questions.

The breakup of the section was 16 questions of QA and 12 of DI in XAT 2022.
This is a section that is not tested at all in CAT or in any other MBA Entrance Exams. It consists of 7 to 8 passages with 2-3 questions each. In XAT 2022, the section comprised 6 passages with 3 questions each. The level of difficulty was on the easier side as well.
There is no particular preparation or syllabus for this section as it is based on the clarity of thought of the candidate. The set of questions also ensures that the answers that the candidate gives do not contradict each other.

The General Knowledge section of the XAT 2023 has no syllabus and can range from current affairs as well as trivia. Based on previous trends, the questions are a balance between static GK and current affairs. The syllabus for this section can vary from literature and politics to technology.
The Essay Writing section was reintroduced in XAT pattern 2022 with candidates being given two options to choose one essay from. There is no syllabus for this section and essay topics are often given based on abstract ideas and thoughts.
